Under current WA State stimulant prescribing laws, only Dr Andrew Leech is authorised to initiate stimulant medication for ADHD at our clinic. This applies to patients aged 10 and over. Where appropriate, Dr Leech can arrange co-prescribing with your regular GP — though your GP will need to be comfortable with this arrangement. For children under 10, we can still provide a full diagnostic assessment and support with non-medication strategies, with specialist referral where medication may be considered in the future.

In some cases, yes — Dr Andrew Leech can establish a co-prescribing arrangement with your regular GP, meaning your GP continues your ongoing prescriptions once the initial assessment and medication initiation has been completed by Dr Leech. Your GP will need to be comfortable with this arrangement and agree to take on ongoing prescribing responsibility. Please discuss this with our team at your appointment.

Please bring: any relevant previous specialist reports or assessments, a list of current medications, your Medicare card and private health insurance details (if applicable), any school or workplace reports relevant to your presentation, and your child's immunisation record if attending a paediatric clinic. If you're a new patient, arriving 5–10 minutes early to complete paperwork is helpful.

Standard GP appointments are typically 10–15 minutes — enough for acute issues but rarely sufficient for complex, ongoing or multifaceted concerns. Our Enhanced Care Clinics use extended consultation times (30–90 minutes), structured assessment protocols, and a whole-person framework. Your GP will have more time to take a full history, coordinate with other members of the care team, and develop a genuinely tailored plan rather than addressing one symptom at a time.

No referral is needed — patients can simply bring or send us any relevant information prior to their appointment. Our admin team is happy to help with any questions or support you need.

After submitting your screener, our clinical team aims to contact you within 2–3 business days to discuss your pathway. Wait times for the appointment itself vary by clinic and clinical urgency — typically 1–4 weeks. We aim to prioritise patients with more pressing needs identified through the screener.
