*WINNER 2023 RACGP WA GP OF THE YEAR AWARD*PLEASE NOTE: Effective 1st June 2024, Dr Andrew Leech will be privately billing ALL patients. Dr Leech will no longer bulk bill (including children & concession card holders).
Hi, I’m Andrew!
I am the director of The Garden Family Medical Clinic in Murdoch & Piara Waters.
I trained in medicine, graduating in 2009 at Notre Dame University in Fremantle.
I grew up in Melbourne. I’m married to Tanya, and we have two girls, Charlotte and Isabelle, they are the Centrepoint of my life. Before The Garden I have been involved in a number of projects including speaking about kids’ mental health for the GP college (RACGP) and at a number of conferences in Australia and Internationally. Alongside mental health, I also have an interest in family health, men’s health, skin checks and small procedures like toenail resections, iron infusions and skin lesion removals.
The most inspiring part of my work is seeing families over a long period of time, I feel like I almost become part of the family in many respects as I have the privilege of hearing so many personal life stories. No two lives are the same, being a doctor has taught me that we are all so unique and this means treatments also need to be carefully tailored for each individual.
The best piece of advice I’ve ever been given is to take every opportunity. I feel this is what has brought me to the Garden, one of the greatest opportunities of my lifetime.
Piara Waters Clinical Director & General Practitioner

Practice Manager
Bree
I was born in Perth and grew up locally in Rossmoyne. My background has been office administration, with over 20 years’ experience. I have worked in Personal Assistant roles in the health profession before undertaking a challenging but rewarding leap of faith into being a business owner at the age of 26, and successfully leading a team of staff. In more recent years I have been developing my practice management skills having previously worked in a psychology practice. I have always had a strong interest in health, customer service and helping people, and it was this interest that led me to join our team at The Garden Family Medical Clinic in the role as Clinic Manager.
In my spare time I am ubering my three girls around to basketball and dancing. I enjoy spending time with my friends and family, going to the gym, relaxing by the pool and tending to my every growing collection of indoor plants.
If I could invent a holiday, it would definitely be on a tropical island with plenty of sunshine, warm crystal waters, a butler and no Wi-Fi!
My Motto: ‘The body achieves what the mind believes’.

Angie
Hi, I’m Angie, one of the friendly faces that will greet you at The Garden Family Medical Clinic.
I have over 20 years’ experience as a Healthcare Assistant and plan on 20 more! I love welcoming people into a practice and making them feel at ease and calm before a Doctor’s appointment.
I have worked alongside Dr Leech and Dr Tan for many years and I am very excited to join them once again in this amazing clinic.
I have 2 beautiful girls whom I adore. I am also very proud that they have inherited my joy of sarcasm, The Simpsons and music. We love nothing more than sitting on the couch with a bowl of popcorn watching an Adam Sandler or Disney movie. We also enjoy the hubby making us a delicious meal on the Weber or BBQ. With our adorable fur baby Leia laying at our feet waiting for something to ‘accidentally’ drop off our plate into her mouth it really is “home is where the heart is”.
School holidays involve going camping, kayaking and fishing.
In my spare time I am finding my love for the gym again, cooking or watching a cooking show, or hanging out with my Mum having a sneaky lunch somewhere without the knowledge of the husbands!
I cannot wait to meet you all!

Registered Nurse
Tegan
Hi, I’m Tegan one of the practice nurses at The Garden.
I always wanted to be either a Nurse or Flight Attendant growing up. I was involved with St John Ambulance as a volunteer First Aider from the age of 12, as well as a carer while studying nursing.
I have been nursing for 19 years and started on a general Medical & Respiratory ward. I tried flight attending and had a few ‘gap years’, working and living in Dubai as Cabin Crew for Emirates. However, when returning to Perth I found my passion in Neonatal Nursing, while working at King Edward Memorial Hospital NICU.
I am a people person and love working within the community, early intervention for children and preventative health. I am excited to be a part of the Garden Medical team.
I have 3 children with my husband, all very sporty and full of energy. I love arts and crafts, and when I’m not at work, I’m baking and decorating cakes.
Registered Nurse
Sarah
I am delighted to be working within The Garden Family Medical Clinic and be part of a team focused on genuine holistic person-centred care. Although having many years of life experience, I am a relatively new Registered Nurse having gained skills in acute and critical care. I am passionate about delivering nursing care to the community and connect with people as individuals, to understand how I can best assist others in meeting their healthcare needs.
I served for over a decade in the Royal Australian Air Force with operational and peacekeeping roles and parted ways when I devoted myself to motherhood. I balanced raising two beautiful children with work as a human resources manager and later as a business consultant. As part of my voluntary commitment within the community, I really enjoyed providing meaningful assistance to others, so I decided to go back to university and do a nursing degree!
I grew up in the Perth Hills and my drive to explore and pursue outdoor adventures remains a part of my lifestyle today. I enjoy taking our dogs to the beach and having relaxing picnics by the river. I love challenging bush hikes, rough camping and leisurely bike rides. I value people for who they are, and I look forward to helping you in your healthcare journey.

I completed my nursing degree in 2018 and proceeded to work as a geriatric nurse in a Residential Aged Care Facility for the next 5 years. Through assisting patients in the management of their chronic health conditions, mental health conditions and palliative care, I’ve come to value the need for patience and compassion in patient care.
Upon entering motherhood, my interest in paediatric nursing grew alongside my excitement to explore preventative medicine, primary health care, health promotion and education to the community. This led me to take up the role of a practice nurse in 2023, and I have only grown in my passion for this discipline ever since!
Outside of work, I enjoy volunteering regularly as a vocalist on a local church band. Our family of three love exploring parks, having picnics at the beach and meeting new friends in our community!
Registered Nurse
Morgan

My husband and I also love to snowboard but the lack of snow here in Perth makes it a hard hobby to participate in regularly.
I am passionate about supporting new mum’s and dad’s in their journey as I know what a unique and challenging time this can be. My favourite saying is “this too shall pass”. If something is hard, I like to remind myself that no matter what season we’re in, it’s not forever.
Healthcare Assistants
Healthcare Assistant
Brendon
Hey there, I’m Brendon and I’m thrilled to be a part of the team here.
I bring a broad range of work experience. Most recently I worked as a patient care assistant in aged care. Prior to that I trained as a barista and worked in a café. Right now, I’m halfway through completing my Bachelor of Nursing, so I’ll be in and out of hospitals. Before settling on nursing, I actually dabbled in marine biology and engineering, which was interesting but ultimately, I’ve realized I enjoy working in healthcare far more.
I have a few hobbies that keep me busy when I’m not trying to complete my assignments. I enjoy listening to indie music, exploring health topics that fascinate me, and trying to improve my Clash of Clans base. As for TV shows, I really enjoyed Mr. Robot. However, currently I am watching Alice in Borderland, which is a bit frustrating at times.
Healthcare Assistant
Debbie
Hi, I’m Debbie, one of the friendly faces that will greet you at the Garden Family Medical Clinic.
I have worked as a Medical Receptionist for the past 8 years employed in surgeries within our local area, where I have continued to build on my experience and where I have met some wonderful patients. It is so lovely to see so many familiar faces!
My hobbies include walking and taking care of my two rescue Border Collie X dogs. I enjoy watching professional football on TV or soccer as it is known here, and well as watching my son play the game at weekends. I love to travel and have travelled extensively, however there is always more of the world to see.
I trained many moons ago as a bi-lingual secretary with French as I was brought up in Europe as a child/teen, spending years living in Switzerland, Belgium, Italy and finally Singapore. Having been brought up in Europe and close to the Alps I eventually qualified a ski instructor which allowed me to spend a couple of winter seasons teaching school children to ski.
Looking forward to seeing and speaking with many of you in the near future.

I’m from Singapore and bring with me many years of work experience in administration. In saying that, there is still so much more to learn from this wonderful place.
You will rarely see me outdoors as I am in the minority group of people who are allergic to the UV rays. Outside of work, I enjoy food and music.
I draw my strength from Jesus. The best verse that keeps me going every day is from Jeremiah 29:11
“For I know the plans I have for you, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
Come and say “hi” to me when you visit the clinic.

In my spare time (when I’m not studying), you’ll find me at the gym, reading a great rom-com book, on the other side of the world travelling, or spending time with my loved ones.

Ashley
Hi! I’m Ash, one of the Healthcare Assistants at the wonderful Garden Family Medical Clinic.
I am currently studying a Bachelor of Biomedical Science at the University of Notre Dame, hoping to pursue postgraduate Medicine and become a doctor myself. I love interacting with patients and helping put them at ease, understanding how anxiety-inducing healthcare environments can be.
When I’m not studying or working, you can find me curled up with a book and coffee, going for my daily pilates class, or spending too much money on food with my partner. At the moment I’m reading ‘Just for the Summer’ by Abby Jiminez (look no further if you want a fluffy romance), and my favourite podcast that I recommend to absolutely everyone is the Huberman Lab (the human brain is insanely fascinating).
I look forward to meeting everyone and helping you however I can!

My desire to provide compassionate care to patients and my extreme love for everything science, particularly the anatomy and physiology of the human form, have led me to this.
Outside of my academic pursuits, you’ll often find me indulging in some light reading – especially mystery novels that add a bit of fun to my downtime, or spending my day meandering through the beautiful city of Fremantle. I have also recently rediscovered my passion for running, and noticed that it significantly enhances my focus on daily tasks.
I look forward to welcoming you all into the clinic!

Being of mature age I believe that my life experience plays a significant part in my practice and provides me with the understanding of both the individual and familial issues that may impact anyone across the life span. I have worked with men, women, adolescents, couples and families to help them to resolve and manage their issues.

Registered Psychologist
Annabelle Jackson
Hi, my name is Annabelle, and I have worked as a psychologist with children and adolescents for over 12 years. I have experience in consultancy roles, as well as in education support centres in primary and high schools, focusing on behaviour and engagement management. I currently work part-time as a Senior School Psychologist at a primary school.
I enjoy working with children and adolescents aged 4 to 14 years of age, supporting them to celebrate their strengths, to tackle challenges, to feel confident in themselves and their abilities, and to better understand the ways that their amazing brains work. I am passionate about supporting and enhancing strong connections between young people and those around them – with their peers, friends, families, schools, and broader communities. I work collaboratively and with an affirming, trauma-informed and person-centred approach.
I can provide assessments and individual therapy, including:
- Understanding and managing emotions including anger, sadness, and anxiety.
- Peer or social challenges.
- Reluctance or refusal to attend school.
- Transition to high school.
- Neurodivergence including ADHD and Autism.
- Challenging behaviours.
- Learning difficulties and disorders.
- Suicidal thoughts.
- Self-esteem.
- Cognitive assessment – identification of cognitive ability.
- Provisional diagnosis of ADHD.
Something about me is that I’m a ‘summer person’. I love spending time outdoors, with family and friends, planting things in our garden, and being at the beach. I enjoy escaping in a book (my bedside table is usually stacked high with a mix of books). I have two little kids, so the book pile gets a bit dusty before I manage to get through them. When I find the time (not very often!) my other hobbies include sleeping, drawing, painting, and making crafty things.
Three quotes that I hold close are ‘kids do well if they can’ (Dr Ross Greene), ‘every child deserves a champion’ (Rita Pierson) and ‘if you think you are too small to make a difference, you haven’t spent the night with a mosquito’ (African proverb).
Something not many people may know about me is that my dog (a Welsh Terrier), is part of a Welsh Terrier Secret Santa at Christmas time. He has had presents from Canada, the US and has even been in a UK newspaper.
I am not a registered provider of services under the NDIS. Therefore, individuals who have packages managed directly by the NDIA are not able to use their NDIS funds to pay for my services.
