Hi, my name is Amy and I am a Registered Psychologist with a special interest in the assessment of Specific Learning Disorders, including difficulties in reading (dyslexia), written expression, and mathematics (dyscalculia).

I am passionate about supporting individuals on their journeys of self-understanding. Through my work, I have developed a strong appreciation that each person experiences and interprets the world through a unique lens. This perspective underpins my approach to assessment, where I aim to understand not only what a child finds difficult, but how they process and engage with information, and how this shapes their learning profile.

A central part of the way I work is taking the time to understand the whole child. I consider how learning is influenced by cognitive skills, emotional wellbeing, attention, language, and motor development. In my experience, children’s difficulties rarely sit neatly within a single area, and meaningful assessment comes from understanding how these factors interact.

Over the past two years, I have worked at the Dyslexia–SPELD Foundation, where I have conducted comprehensive cognitive and academic assessments to identify Specific Learning Disorders. While I now work exclusively in assessment, my background in therapeutic practice continues to inform my approach. I bring a collaborative, person-centred style to the assessment process, creating a space where children and families feel comfortable, understood, and supported.

I am committed to providing clear, strengths-based recommendations that are practical and meaningful. I work closely with families, educators, and other professionals to ensure that assessment findings translate into targeted support and improved learning outcomes for each child.
