Amanda Hender

Hi, my name is Amanda, and I am a registered psychologist who has completed a Masters in Psychology (Counselling). I have been in private practice for the past eight years and have extensive experience in the assessment and treatment of depression and mood disorders, obsessions and compulsions, anger issues, post-natal depression and anxiety, gender and sexual identity, grief, addictions, trauma, sexual assault, sexual abuse, domestic violence, child protection and neglect. I am an accredited specialist in the treatment of eating disorders and have completed training in the treatment of sleep issues and disorders. Being of mature age I believe that my life experience plays a significant part in my practice and provides me with the understanding of both the individual and familial issues that may impact anyone across the life span. I have worked with men, women, adolescents, couples and families to help them to resolve and manage their issues. My goal is to assist my clients to find meaning and understanding of the issues that have and continue to impact them and the people around them. I am able to provide a broad and eclectic range of evidence based therapeutic styles to support my clients that recognises and acknowledges their individual strengths and capabilities.

Registered Psychologist

Annabelle Jackson

Hi, my name is Annabelle, and I have worked as a psychologist with children and adolescents for over 12 years. I have experience in consultancy roles, as well as in education support centres in primary and high schools, focusing on behaviour and engagement management. I currently work part-time as a Senior School Psychologist at a primary school.

I enjoy working with children and adolescents aged 4 to 14 years of age, supporting them to celebrate their strengths, to tackle challenges, to feel confident in themselves and their abilities, and to better understand the ways that their amazing brains work. I am passionate about supporting and enhancing strong connections between young people and those around them – with their peers, friends, families, schools, and broader communities. I work collaboratively and with an affirming, trauma-informed and person-centred approach.

I can provide assessments and individual therapy, including:

  • Understanding and managing emotions including anger, sadness, and anxiety.
  • Peer or social challenges.
  • Reluctance or refusal to attend school.
  • Transition to high school.
  • Neurodivergence including ADHD and Autism.
  • Challenging behaviours.
  • Learning difficulties and disorders.
  • Suicidal thoughts.
  • Self-esteem.
  • Cognitive assessment – identification of cognitive ability.
  • Provisional diagnosis of ADHD.

Something about me is that I’m a ‘summer person’. I love spending time outdoors, with family and friends, planting things in our garden, and being at the beach. I enjoy escaping in a book (my bedside table is usually stacked high with a mix of books). I have two little kids, so the book pile gets a bit dusty before I manage to get through them. When I find the time (not very often!) my other hobbies include sleeping, drawing, painting, and making crafty things.

Three quotes that I hold close are ‘kids do well if they can’ (Dr Ross Greene), ‘every child deserves a champion’ (Rita Pierson) and ‘if you think you are too small to make a difference, you haven’t spent the night with a mosquito’ (African proverb).

Something not many people may know about me is that my dog (a Welsh Terrier), is part of a Welsh Terrier Secret Santa at Christmas time. He has had presents from Canada, the US and has even been in a UK newspaper.

I am not a registered provider of services under the NDIS. Therefore, individuals who have packages managed directly by the NDIA are not able to use their NDIS funds to pay for my services.

Registered Psychologist

Stephanie Boyett

Hi! My name is Stephanie and I have previously worked in disability and high school psychology settings. I’m passionate about providing support to people, particularly those dealing with neurodivergent conditions such as ADHD, autism, and learning disorders. I take pleasure in making the assessment process engaging, providing explanations for their experiences, and offering support and strategies for the future. Further, I love running groups and have previously conducted groups on anxiety management, anger management, and effective communication skills.

I love tennis and swimming, and I spend most of my free time listening to podcasts or audiobooks. I love the Imperfects Podcast and am currently reading ‘The Body Keeps the Score’. I am a big traveller and go to Bali whenever I can, I also love road tripping either down south or up north! My cats bring me a lot of joy, they have just started becoming friends (we adopted one of them only about 2 months ago) and they now sit next to each other on chairs and the sofa which is very adorable.

I happily cater to adolescents and adults. Presentations: trauma, depression, anxiety, neurodivergence, interpersonal issues, anger (in children/adolescents), identity (self-esteem, values, etc.) I do not offer services such as workers’ compensation, eating disorders, couples, or family counseling.
